American goalkeeper Tim Howard scores goal vs Bolton in English Premiere League from his own penalty box 100 yards away!
January 5th, 2012
The English Preimere League was pleased to see an amazing goal from American born goalkeeper Tim Howard. Howard, standing in his own penalty box, sent out a kick that launched the ball into the windy sky that helped elevate the ball over the Bolton goalkeeper.
There have been only four goalkeepers in English Premiere history to have scored a goal, but Howard is the only goalkeeper to score from his own penalty area!
Everybody was excited except for Howard himself. "It's not a nice place to be. I've been there before, a long, long time ago and that was why I didn't celebrate," said the veteran keeper. He went on to say that wind is the element that effects play the most.
Although it was an amazing goal, it was still not enough to beat Bolton who retaliated with 2 unanswered goals to seal the victory on the pitch.
